Gizmo the spinner's Story:
Gizmo is a happy little boy who is a clown and loves absolutely everyone. This little guy has so much fun playing with other dogs. As small as can be, but he has no idea that is so, and gets right into the middle of all the action. Gizmo weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds when he first came into care, and has gained just one pound, but is eating up a storm. Due to his hemivertebrae and arthritis in a back hip, we don't want him to gain too much weight. Gizmo's physical problems don't hamper him in the least when it comes to action and he twirls and plays like crazy. His hemivertebrae does necessitate the need for a wipedown with a babywipe when he goes out to potty, since the curve in his spine causes his urine to get onto his front legs, but a quick wipe to his front legs, and he is off and running again. Gizmo walks well on a leash, although the arthritis in the back left hip sometimes causes him to lift that leg while running or playing. He is on a Glucosamine and Chondrotin medication for his arthritis. But don't let that fool you. Gizmo is as spunky and fun as they come, in a very small package.

We prefer to place Gizmo in a home where he will not be left alone for long periods and with another small, friendly dog to play with. Although Gizmo gets along great with everyone, no young children please, due to his back and arthritis.
