Name: Bosco
Breed: Boston Terrier
Gender: Male
Age: 2
Personality: Bosco is a delightful two year old big boy who is full of energy and love. He lives to be with his family and play in water. A water hose is an invitation for hijinks and play for Bosco. Bosco gets along great with other dogs, and with kids;, but has a habit of bolting out of any door or gate, so must be watched for this at all times. For this reason he will do best in a home with someone who does not have a lot of traffic coming and going out of the house allowing him an oppurtunity to bolt and explore. Bosco loves to go everywhere with his family and is quite the experianced camper. He has great exploring adventures under his belt with his family that are ardent campers. Sadly, because they must work long hours they feel like the best home for Bosco will be with someone who is home most of the time. Bosco has a tendency to become destructive when left alone and has chewed up several dog beds and some patio cushions when left alone. He has never been destructive to anything inside the house, but his quest for mischeif has caused lots of digging in the yard and chewing of patio furniture. He never does this while the family is home, so they feel he may be better served in a home where he is able to have human company more often. He might even do well in an apartment or condo setting. Bosco is a big boy at 35 pounds, but is 35 pounds of love.
Here is what his current family has written about Bosco:
He is 33.5 lbs but thinks he is 10 lbs and wants to give you love.
His tricks are sit, rollover, and down. He will lay down and then crawl for his treat. He will only do this on carpet or grass. He does not like his belly on cold tile or dirt.
He loves other dogs and he is very controlled even when another dog is being aggressive.
He chews stuffed animals and water. He has chewed outside furniture cushions, but nothing inside. He also likes to dig for sources of water. He is still young so he can still out grow this.
He will chase the water you spray from the nozzle and will play with it like a game. He plays fetch with spray water better than he does a ball.
He is comfortable on a leash.
He drives, camps, and travels like a pro. He wants to go everywhere you go. He only tries to run out of the house if he hasn't been walked in a while. As long as he gets his sniffs in, he comes right back.
He almost never barks but will howl, to a harmonica. This does not hurt his ears, but triggers his natural instinct to say "I am here also."
Bosco may be best suited for an active senior who can give him full time attention.
He is potty trained with no accidents ever. And he is fine in a kennel.
Issues: Will do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. He is destructive when left alone outside, or left with a doggy door to go outside to dig and chew up patio furniture pads.
Bosco's Story: Bosco is a young big boy who adores the water and loves being with his family for all adventures.
